Model Program

Jump Start to College - Minneapolis

Jump Start to College provides students with the opportunity to take pre-college classes for free. The classes count toward high school graduation requirements and help better prepare students for college. The program focuses on developing the reading, writing and math skills students will need to be successful in college.

High School Partners:

Minneapolis Public Schools and Cooper High Schools

Postsecondary Partner:

Minneapolis Community and Technical College

Student Eligibility:

Test developmental on the Accuplacer, 11th-12th grade; students attending Minneapolis Public Schools or Cooper High School.

Faculty Credentialing and/or Teacher Licensure Requirements which support this program:

Faculty credentialed in teaching area and high school teachers are licensed in field.
